Battery World launches battery recycling programWritten on the 14 July 2008 Each year 8,000 tonnes of hazardous battery waste ends up in Australian landfill. Battery World provides this service to consumers free of charge and sorts all batteries collected in the bins, to ensure they go to the correct recycling plants. As part of educating the community Battery World are already rolling out a school’s recycling program in some states which will give children the opportunity to recycle batteries at school and learn about the importance of recycling. Battery World is Australia’s largest and most comprehensive retail battery chain which has access to more than 8’000 batteries and accessories.
