Innovative franchise takes out My Business magazine awardsWritten on the 15 October 2008 Franchised home delivery company, Aussie Farmers Direct, has won the ActionCOACH My Business Award for Outstanding Excellence. In a competitve field of more than 500 businesses, the innovative new Australian business walked away with the top award of the night as well as the award for Best Start Up Business. Aussie Farmers Direct launched in Melbourne just 3 years ago and has since revitalised the food home delivery market, with its hundreds of franchisees delivering staples like bread, milk and vegetables to more than 30,000 households across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. The business deals directly with farmers and manufacturers to cut out the middle man and has quickly achieved success because it offers customers lower costs than supermarkets, as well as convenient delivery. Aussie Farmers Direct is now generating more than $70 million a year and aims to have 55,000 customers by the end of 2008. The business is also looking to expand into Western Australia and South Australia with more franchisees. |
