Ready Steady Go Kids in Ballarat

Preschoolers in Ballarat will soon get to experience the fun and excitement of Australia’s largest multi-sport and exercise program, Ready Steady Go Kids. The highly regarded, physio-designed program will commence in Ballarat in term 2, 2012, giving children a chance to learn new skills and be active.

Ready Steady Go Kids, for two-and-a-half to six year olds, fosters a positive attitude towards exercise and health that children are likely to carry for life. While developing athletic prowess from an early age, the program also encourages self-confidence, cooperation and sportsmanship.

Classes cover the fundamentals of 10 different sports and are run by qualified instructors with early childhood and coaching experience.

Franchisee and mother of three, Rachel Colvin, couldn’t be more excited about bringing this unique program to town. “The curriculum is amazing”, she said. “All around Australia, Ready Steady Go Kids has proven popular and worthwhile.”

“My oldest son, Kai, three, absolutely loved the classes he attended in Melbourne to the extent that I considered travelling down each week. But then I thought, ‘This is silly, heaps of other children would benefit from Ready Steady Go Kids if it were in Ballarat’, so I decided to bring it here.”

Free trial classes will be offered when classes commence in Ballarat next term so parents and children can experience the benefits firsthand.

“I hope that every preschooler in Ballarat gets to try Ready Steady Go Kids. It sets them up with a good foundation for all sports and learning, giving them the confidence to participate when they get to school.”

Mrs Colvin’s enthusiasm for the program is matched by her big plans for its future in Ballarat.

“Long-term I plan to offer classes six days a week in multiple locations across Ballarat, as well as in neighbouring country towns. I would love to establish relationships with various schools and Playgroups throughout the area, offering classes and thriving school holiday programs directly at their sites. I would also love for Ready Steady Go Kids to be first in the minds of young children when they are planning what to do for their birthdays.”

Ready Steady Go Kids’ director, Stuart Derbyshire, is delighted to welcome Mrs Colvin as a new franchisee.

“Rachel is the perfect fit for Ready Steady Go Kids. She’s been an athlete all her life, she’s a teacher and her enthusiasm for the program is undeniable. We can’t wait to see what she does with the program in Ballarat.”

Rachel will be hosting the Ready Steady Go Kids Ballarat Launch Party Friday 23 March 2012, at the Eastwood Leisure Centre, 20 Eastwood Street, Ballarat from 10.00am to 1.00pm. Families are invited to come along and try the program for free.
