Endota expanding and winning awardsWritten on the 25 June 2008 June has been an exciting month for Endota Spas, as they expand their franchise business around Australia and take home an award for innovation at the spa indutry's night of nights. The 13th National Awards of Excellence 2008 were held on the Gold Coast on June 15th to celebrate the best of the spa industry. These awards are considered to be the most prestigious for the beauty industry as they also review a technical division coming from the industry's standards body, the APAA. Endota Spas as a group were winners of the MOST INNOVATIVE ESTABLISHMENT IN MARKETING AWARD in recognition of their successful franchise innovation of the Endota Spa brand. Endota spa started in Victoria back in the year 2000 when two high school friends Melanie Gleeson and Belinda Fraser cemented their wellness dreams for the future while sharing a snag at a mates BBQ. The girls started with lots of raw optimism at the young age of 25 when they opened their first spa down a dirt road in Mt Martha on the Mornington Peninsular using a credit card and money borrowed from family and friends. For the next three years they held down day jobs plus ran the spa, and at night documented the systems and procedures that are now standard across the spa network. Melanie and Belinda officially began franchising Endota in December 2003 and today have 33 spas across 6 states and territories with many more in the planning stages. Endota has also recently announced the opening of another franchise in Darwin, located in the newly completed luxury waterfront complex Mantra Pandanus Apartments. Endota has created a spa design and layout that will complement the tropical environment of the city and reflect the qualities that the developer is seeking in instill into the entire project. Comprising relaxing spa on level 6 combined with a new interactive 'skin bar' retail concept at lobby level, Endota expects this spa to set the standard for the future. "This a great opportunity for a territory entrepreneur to join the rapidly expanding Endota team of business owners," said co-founder, Belinda Fraser. "We've been watching the territory from our Mornington Peninsula base, and this is great chance to spread the wellness word into another important part of Australia and also start showing the huge international tourist contingent that visit Darwin what our brand is all about."
